Maison Gainsbourg — Le Gainsbar
An immersive audio journey toward Le Gainsbar: six tableaux linking archives and objects, down to the last decoded notes from his piano.
"Le Gainsbar" is the immersive audio experience created in 2023 within Maison Gainsbourg, the museum set in Serge Gainsbourg's historic home, in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. It takes the form of a corridor leading to Le Gainsbar, where six immersive tableaux follow one another, linking archival documents and physical objects in chronological order, beneath directional sound showers. The bulk of the work centered on processing and normalizing the archives, including decoding a 1980s player-piano tape to extract his last notes. The immersive sound design of Le Gainsbar was produced with Tonight Sound.
