At VivaTech 2024, L'Oréal celebrates its 115 years: giant screens and booths where local AI generates product images, live, chosen by the public.
For VivaTech 2024, at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, L'Oréal Groupe celebrates its 115 years and 37 brands through an immersive scenography (giant screens, a ceiling of modular screens) and three interactive experiences. The main one generates L'Oréal packshot images on demand, from a touchscreen using local AI, with the visitor choosing product, place and details; others, captured with Kinect, offer augmented reality. I served as creative technologist on the interactive booths, on a stack of ComfyUI locally, TouchDesigner and Unity, with WMH Project on coproduction and M Vision on technical delivery. The content was relayed all the way into the metro.

Technical details
Beyond the large-format immersive media created with AI, three interactive experiences. The main one generates L'Oréal packshot images on demand, from a touchscreen, using local AI: the visitor picks a product, a place and a few details, and the image appears in real time, a genuine feat to run locally in 2024. Other experiences, captured with Kinect, offer augmented reality to browse the products. Stack: ComfyUI locally, TouchDesigner and Unity.
